WORLD WATER DAY
The United Nations (UN) designated, in 1993, March 22 as World Water Day in order to spread an awareness message for the conservation and correct use of water throughout the world each year.
Those of us who choose to dive, be it a family activity to enjoy all together, a way of having a good time with friends, out of curiosity, hoping to see a new animal, a lifestyle choice, as a keen photographer or as a way of changing up your routine a little, we all enjoy the water, not only as a resource but as an environment, a friendly environment where we feel lighter, where our senses are heightened and we can communicate with just a few signs, to where, thanks to the wonderful creatures we get to see, we feel the urge to return again and again, always trying to find something new, something different, but one thing never changes, whether you dive in a cave or cenote, in a lagoon or on a reef, in a quarry or along a coral wall, you are under the water and that is, quite simply, what makes it wonderful.
Today, to celebrate World Water Day, I would like humbly to recommend that we do our part together to conserve such a unique and scarce resource. Here we go:
From our first day in the world of diving, we learned the importance of maintaining and taking care of our equipment.
It is essential to rinse each part of our equipment, after every day of diving, with plenty of fresh water to keep it in good working order. But when we do this, don't forget that we are using an invaluable resource, namely drinking water.
And here is my idea:
Instead of using a shower or hose where liters and liters of water are wasted unnecessarily, it is much better to fill a bucket with water and rinse all your and your companions' equipment there. This way, you will be able to keep your equipment in very good condition, and at the same time, help to conserve water.
This is something very simple and I really hope you find it useful.
I HOPE YOU LIKE IT AND IF YOU WANT TO PROVIDE ANY IDEA ON HOW TO HELP CONSERVE WATER, feel free to LEAVE YOUR COMMENTS HERE. SEE YOU SOON FRIENDS:)
